For the past 25 years, we have been providing professional home services. You might recognize us as the couple on all of the red trucks--or the few pink trucks we added to the fleet in October. We have been fortunate to have such great employees, customers and communities to serve.  As a company, we wanted a special way to give back to our community and we didn't have to look far for inspiration. While many things have helped us create and grow a wonderful company, James' mother has always played an important role in our lives. Sherrill is a breast cancer survivor and has always given great advice when it comes to serving others. That is why in honor of Breast Cancer awareness month, A#1 Air partnered with the National Breast Cancer Foundation to help raise awareness and provide hope for those impacted by the disease.

This past October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, A#1 Air along with our customers, employees, vendors and community partners, designated a portion of all proceeds to help women faced with a breast cancer diagnosis and bring awareness about early detection.   We created Comfort for a Cause as an opportunity for North Texas residents to receive home improvement services and products at a significant discount while helping A#1 Air raise their contribution goal for October 2015.IMG_0592

Our goal was steep, but the support was strong. With the help of our amazing A#1 Air Family, we managed to reach our donation goal of $50,000.  To top that, we were able to spread awareness through social media and we committed to donate $5 for every customer selfie with an A#1 Air technician posted to any of our social channels with the hashtag #ComfortForACause to NBCF. Our employees also got involved with internal fundraising events and by sharing their own breast cancer impact stories. See impact stories here.

We want to thank our customers, employees, vendors and communities for their support. With this contribution we hope to make a positive impact in someone's life. We all know someone who has been impacted by this disease, but together we can help spread awareness to #HelpWomenNow.

More about our Partner, National Breast Cancer Foundation

The National Breast Cancer Foundation was founded in 1991 by breast cancer survivor, Janelle Hail.  She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1980 at the age of 34.  At the time of her diagnosis, there was little information about the disease, and she was forced to make a decision about her health with few options.  After her treatment, Janelle made a commitment to help women around the world by educating them about breast cancer and the importance of early detection.
